Well,  there have been some major changes in our family life recently and blogging has taken a back seat.. My husband is going to be changing jobs and this could result in a move for us…  but,  I know that some of you are just holding your breath waiting on my updates.. hear they are:

#stick with it saturday

I’ve been walking watching my calories and have been attempting to use #myfitnesspal  … I need more friends on there, to hold me accountable…

#one word : FOCUS

CHECK! i have kept my focus on what is important .. JESUS and my family

#3in30 :  June

Getting back on track for June with new goals:

1.  become facebook free!

2.  eliminate soda from my diet

3.  read a chapter a day in my Bible  (in addition to my regular Bible Study)

* speaking of study, I am finishing up BRAVE by Angela Thomas, and getting ready to start Esther by Beth Moore…   i’d love to hear from you if you have done either of these!

Emeals:  I am still loving it.. a recent favorite recipe was a Beefy Cabbage Skillet.. kindof like a cabbage roll… unrolled.. YUM.

Here’s a new helpful hints page from emeals.. some quick and healthy snacks for summer!!

So, this week i get an Iphone.. Loving it.. Then, I get an email… Iphone App for EMEALS?   Immediately signed up.

I have signed up for apps that might seem similar before, when i had my android phone.  I never ended up using them.  This is the best app I have seen for menu planning and grocery shopping!!   You can access the current and past emeal menu’s.  You can access your shopping list & it has prices.  If you skip a meal on the weekly plan, it deletes the items from your shopping list.   You can add to your shopping list.  As you shop, you can check off what you have purchased.    How easy does this make things?  You have the plan, the recipes and the shopping list right on your phone!  I will love not having to waste so much paper with grocery planning.

Thanks emeals for continuing to help me get supper on the table!

Emeals… the tasting continues…

Posted: March 25, 2013 in emeals

I have loved my emeals subscription, HOWEVER, several meals plans include meals that are too spicy or too pricey for me.   I really wish that ALL menu plans included a grocery price list.  That said,  I love looking at the menus each week and deciding what i am going to fix and what I am not.   I will continue to switch my meal plans and determine which one BEST suits my family.    I will say that spice and cost aside, my family has not complained about anything I have fixed from the menu plans.   That makes it a winner for me!!

Emeals .. UPDATE

Posted: February 6, 2013 in Uncategorized

Well, my family has been using Emeals for a few weeks now and we are enjoying it. We have tried menu items from the Classic and the Low Carb plans. I really wanted to like the Low Carb Menu, for obvious reasons. We are trying to make healthier choices for our meals and low carb generally is a great way to kick start my weight loss. The downside to the low carb menu plan is that there have been several spicy items each week. I understand that the spice is used to make the food taste better, so that you don’t miss the carbs. However, my family has 3 kids who don’t “do” spicy. I’ll keep this menu plan until next week when I can switch plans again. ** I contacted customer service and they offered to change the plan early for me, if I was unhappy. I chose not to change plans so that I could collect one month’s worth of the plan, but I was happy to see that the customer service was excellent. I emailed them and received a reply in less than 24 hours, with a satisfactory response and solution.

#OneWord 2013

Posted: January 5, 2013 in Uncategorized

OneWord2013_Honor150My word for 2013 is HONOR.  A friend reintroduced me to this word just before Christmas.  I started talking to my kids about showing honor to each other and realized that there aare so many ways to implement honor in our lives.   I am praying that focusing on honor will greatly affect my family.

HONOR – God… in all i do
HONOR – My Marriage…  by putting it first and respecting what marriage stands for…by putting effort into it
HONOR – My husband… by showing respect and appreciation for him….by lifting him up and not rltearing him down.
HONOR – My kids… by being present with them…by modeling honor, love, and grace
HONOR – Myself..by acknowledging tue person God created and accepting myself as worthy of his love.
